1. Who we are

LocalOceanside.com ("the Site", "we", "us") is an independent local guide to Oceanside, California. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the City of Oceanside, San Diego County, Oceanside Unified School District, MiraCosta College, Camp Pendleton, or any government agency or business listed on the Site.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Site you accept these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these terms at any time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

3. Eligibility

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit personal information through the Site if you are under 13.

4. Information accuracy and verification

All content on the Site — including business listings, hours, prices, deals, happy hours, events, menus, descriptions, photographs, weather, air quality, surf and tide reports, traffic, map data, neighborhood details, video embeds, and AI-generated responses — is provided for general information only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or otherwise wrong.

You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it. Always confirm hours, prices, availability, safety conditions, and event details directly with the business, venue, organizer, or appropriate government agency before you go, spend money, or make plans.

5. Ollie AI assistant

Ollie AI is an automated assistant. Its responses are generated by a language model, may contain errors or outdated information, and are not professional advice of any kind (legal, medical, financial, safety or otherwise). Do not rely on Ollie AI for emergency, medical or legal decisions. In an emergency, call 911.

6. Acceptable use

• use the Site for any unlawful, harassing, defamatory or fraudulent purpose;
• scrape, harvest, mine or bulk-copy content, contact data or images from the Site;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its backend or its data;
• upload malicious code or interfere with the Site's operation or availability;
• misrepresent your identity or submit content you do not have rights to.

7. Your submissions

When you submit an event, deal, video, tip, correction or message through our forms, you confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, edit, shorten and display that submission on the Site and in related promotion. We may decline, edit or remove any submission for any reason.

8. Sponsorships and advertising

Some placements on the Site — including the Sponsor Spotlight, featured listings and promoted deals — are paid. Paid placements are labeled as sponsored or featured. Payment does not change our editorial descriptions of other businesses, and we do not accept payment to remove accurate information. We may participate in affiliate or referral programs; where we do, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

9. Third-party links and embeds

The Site links to third-party websites and embeds third-party content such as YouTube videos and map tiles. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices, and we do not control or endorse their content. Using them is at your own risk.

10. Intellectual property

The Site's name, design, original text and curation are our property or licensed to us. Third-party names, logos and videos belong to their owners. You may link to the Site and quote short excerpts with attribution; systematic copying is not permitted.

Beaches, the pier, the harbor, trails and events carry inherent risks. You participate at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety and that of anyone in your care.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.
