Accessibility Statement
We want every Oceanside local and visitor to be able to use this site, whatever device or assistive technology they rely on.
Last updated: August 18, 2026
1. Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and to follow the spirit of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort, reviewed as we add features.
2. What we've built in
- skip-to-content link on every page;
- semantic headings, landmarks and labeled navigation;
- visible keyboard focus and full keyboard operability;
- alt text on meaningful images and ARIA labels on interactive controls;
- live regions so screen readers announce Ollie AI responses;
- color choices reviewed for contrast, plus a high-contrast mode;
- respect for the system "reduce motion" setting.
3. Accessibility widget
The button in the lower-left corner opens tools to adjust text size (90–150%), switch to high-contrast or grayscale, highlight links, underline headings, use a more readable font, enlarge the cursor and reduce motion. Your choices are saved on your device.
4. Known limitations
Some third-party content — embedded YouTube players and interactive map tiles — is controlled by the provider and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Where a map is used, the same places are also listed as accessible text and links. If an embed blocks you, tell us and we will provide the information another way.
5. Feedback and assistance
If you hit a barrier, or you need information from this site in another format, use our contact form and choose "Accessibility help". We aim to respond within five business days and will work with you until you have what you need.
